Hello!
Ameer Omar here former Blockswap team member
First of all great to see familiar faces/usernames @tokenswolf @ykplayer8 on the council. Super exciting to see the product development from a far.
I am part of the core team at CryptoEQ, and our team of analysts has been adding to our library of resources on Blockswap competitors, such as Lido, Rocketpool, Obol, Frax, Stakewise, and more.
We have published an LSD overview article designed to be super beginner-friendly and introduce the concept.
Additionally, we delve deep into Rocket Pool and RPL. Below is an excerpt from this article that I thought you all would like:
“The question of who becomes a node operator remains a crucial issue subject to debate. The primary risk of LSDs is when the governance token (e.g., RPL) becomes the deciding factor in who is a node operator, which can lead to self-reinforcing centralization and abuse of the Ethereum protocol. Alternatively, an economic and reputation-based node operator selection process may result in an automated cartelization. Kicking out node operators based on profitability may be the only trustless method, but it is not without issues, as profitability comparisons can be skewed by node operators using destructive techniques.”
That said, we have a surplus of research that has not been published on these protocols. In my conversation with @derek, I believe that the community and Blockswap Network would like to leverage this research and focus it on highlighting Blockswap’s unique offerings and market position.
The primary goal of this proposed CORE+ Report is to raise awareness about the commonly overlooked vulnerabilities of certain protocols offered by LSD providers in the industry. Through high-quality independent research, the report will position Blockswap as a clear alternative that effectively addresses these issues.
Please take a look at the below and feel free to ask questions. I’m also happy to coordinate a call with the council to answer questions directly.
