[Temperature Check] Council Payments
The Grant Council’s 6 month term has concluded and will be followed by the conclusion of the Liquidity Council’s term. The DAO should now determine the next course of action for these entities.
Background
As the Blockswap DAO continues to decentralize, empowering community members is a clear path forward for growth. With active members, it will be easier for the DAO to move forward. Encouraging positive behavior should be a priority for all DAO members. In this way, those taking a passive role can encourage the rewards of those taking an active role through distributions of the BSN token.
Payment
BSN distributions should be seen as the community signaling what is healthy and beneficial for the DAO. As this is the first round of council distributions this is a good time to reassess any changes to the council’s operations. Although all payments are there, it could be more beneficial to audit each member’s contributions for alignment and engagement. This will bring verifiability and transparency to the council’s work.
Current Council members should put up proposals on Snapshot briefly outlining their contributions to each council and their desired BSN allocation. If approved the council can distribute from their respective SAFE multisig wallet.
Initial Proposals
Term End
- Grant Council - December 6, 2023
- Liquidity Council - February 6, 2024

- Grant Council - 3,000,000 BSN allotted for all council members (4 members total)
- Liquidity Council - 500,000 BSN per person + up to 75k per action (6 members total)
Items to include in the snapshot vote
- Council they are on
- List of contributions w/ links when appropriate
- Description of work
- Total BSN they would like to receive
- If they would like to continue being on the council or not
Deadline for Proposals
- One month after the completion of the term.
Future payouts after the initial period should be reviewed similarly with council members sharing what they have done with the community for them to approve distributions. Members may also find it helpful to put up a temperature check before a Snapshot vote to determine community feedback.
Continuity
To maintain continuity, members with accepted proposals for payment stating a desire to continue sitting on the council should be able to maintain their position. This will keep the community engaged and up to date with who is sitting on the councils. It also confirms the alignment between the work of the council members and BSN distributions.
