[Temperature Check] Utilize Restaking within LSD Networks

[Temperature Check] Utilize Restaking within LSD Networks

Introduction

LSD Networks revolutionized smart contract driven autonomous staking infrastructure, giving on-demand access to unparalleled customizations for liquid staked ETH. Restaking seems like the next evolution for Ethereum validators. With the introduction of Restaking Cloud’s K2 protocol, LSD Network validators can join restaking for additional ETH yield while maintaining protected principle.

Restaking Cloud

The K2 Protocol, Restaking Cloud’s premier offering, is a transformative framework that redefines Ethereum validators as “Safe Assets,” empowering both individual stakers and node operators to earn passive yields without modifying their operational workflow. Through Native Delegation, K2 facilitates a seamless integration of validators into the restaking ecosystem, preserving their autonomy while enabling a robust, decentralized network. This protocol not only enhances security through its unique Staked Borrower Positions (SBP) but also fosters innovation by allowing middleware to rapidly adapt and evolve with the dynamic landscape of web3. K2 stands as a testament to the future of decentralized finance, where flexibility, security, and inclusivity converge to create a resilient and scalable blockchain infrastructure.

Native Delegation in Restaking Cloud’s K2 Protocol revolutionizes Ethereum staking by treating validators as “Safe Assets.” This feature allows validators to participate in restaking while maintaining full control over their operations and assets. It ensures validators’ autonomy and security, aligning with Ethereum’s ethos of decentralization and trustless participation. Native Delegation is Solo Staker friendly and does not require the deposit of withdrawal credentials.

Objectives

  • Provide utility and value to the BSN token
  • Create cashflow for the BSN DAO from node operator
  • Create additional incentives for node operators
  • Offset any fees charged to node operators through K2 yield

Rational

The DAO would benefit from an additional revneue stream. By working with the Restaking Cloud team, they can collect fees from an LSD Network and those joining are provided with white list access to the K2 protocol.

The DAO could then look at making BSN staking a mandatory aspect of joining the LSD Network.

Proposal

BSN DAO should work closely with the Restaking Cloud team. The Restaking Cloud team is open to the BSN DAO creating an LSD Network that has white list spots to join K2 as Native Delegators.

  • Create an LSD Network for the DAO
  • Allow validators staked through this LSD Network to Native Delegate in K2 with no cap to the number of validators
  • Set a fee of 5% for the LSD Network and 10% on the K2 yield - K2 has built-in support for a representative feature that the LSD network uses for fund split claims.
  • Fees collected go to the DAO
  • The LSD Network could offer 0 ETH node operating through 0 ETH club
  • Make it mandatory to stake BSN to get access to the LSD Network. This can be done as a 12-month subscription where the BSN is slowly given to the DAO over time.

Conclusion

This temperature check is open to feedback and discussion with the broader community. The aim is to both bring value to the BSN token while finding a sustainable revenue for the DAO.

Combining Stakehouse with ReStaking is where the community should go to integrate and leverage our tech stack for the community’s benefit.

A note from Discord is to specifically combine the BLOCK LSD network to add incentives seems worthy of further discussion to see how this would work in practice.

Any suggestions for how the BLOCK LSD network and/or other LSD Networks can earn rewards for supporting ReStaking in a way that creates a fly wheel of benefits for the community and individual participants?

This is great way for the BSN community to integrate into the Restaking Cloud.

I’m going to work on helping push this forward and get others like @pkstevenz or @manan onto this opportunity.

Extra rewards for supporting restaking solutions and real-life experience running ETH node infrastructure is exactly what the DAO wants to see and support.
