Tide makes it easy to launch and measure data-driven and effective incentive programs.
It’s clear that building vibrant communities is hard. Web3 marketing remains very technical, the presence of Sybils seeking rewards is high and the distribution of incentives is broken. This causes inefficient airdrop allocation, low retention and wasted development resources.
Tide can help Blockswap allocating tokens based on CAC, LTV and real, actionable metrics.
We have case history:
Magpie, a leading bridge protocol, is allocating their tokens via Tide data-driven, anti-sybil campaigns. Moreover, Magpie has integrated tide campaigns and leaderboard in their website
LI FI just launched 12 quests in collaboration with major defi protocols (among which polynomial, mux, radiant, kwenta, rodeo, delta prime, swaap…)
Pooltogheter, Saddle, nftperp, premia and many other defi protocols are using tide recurringly
Subli, awareded with OP growth grant, is using Tide to drive engagement to his newsletter and the program already generated 8k real subscriber (planning to get to 20k)
Our main differentiating features:
Analytics & performance suite
Targeting system & Sybil protection
Automatic tracking of on-chain tasks
Soulbound referral program
CONTEXT
After a call with @derek from the Blockswap team, we gathered that current Marketing challenges involve bringing more visibility to the project
Current activity revolves around educational content
The DAO is looking to increase organic adoption
TIDE REFERRAL SYSTEM
The referral campaign can be a useful way to incentivize organic adoption and word of mouth
Tide developed a soulbound referral campaign. How it works? Some users with specific past on chain activity can access an “ambassador campaign”, where they can claim a badge and receive a referral link
When blockswap users perform activity via the referral link, soulbound metadata changes and the ambassadors start to accumulate XPs (Experience Points)
Periodically, some rewards can be assigned based on XP leaderboard. Example: protocol fee share, soft rewards (special discord roles), access to raffles
Creating a referral campaign is straightforward. First, it is necessary to deploy a campaign on Tide (no-code). Then, it is important to install a simple SDK for tide to track actions coming from the links. If the integration is too complex or not feasible given DAO capacity and constraints, it is possible to have users referring to other tide campaigns (i.e. a campaign requesting users to deposit on Blockswap)
The amount of BSN requested for 1mln BSN token, including setup and on-going maintenance.
In alternative to the referral campaign, Tide can offer:
LOYALTY PASSPORT: A soulbound that changes and accumulate points according to the on-chain activity on Blockswap
QUESTS: Incentivize any social media action and any on-chain action (deposit 1k$ USD on Blockswap for 30 days). Quests can be targeted - for instance special campaigns can be created for holders of Lido’s stETH
Keen to discuss these ideas with the community and proceed with a formal proposal
Nice! this is definitely of interest to me, I think this easily provides value to Blockswap. I don’t know if this would be publicly available but I would love to see analytics for one of the integrated projects mentioned so we could assess how much growth we could expect to see as a result. The Grant Council will be seriously considering your proposal!
Rodeo finance did their go to market with us, reaching 1k new users (we used a sybil protection system, so wallets were vetted based on relevant past on-chain activity)
Subli got 12k new subscribers to their newsletter
LI.FI generated 500k on-chain volume in the first two weeks of the campaigns
NFTPerp launched their app with a Tide campaign that got 5k participants and translated to 1k active users retained after six month
It would be important to allocate some tokens or rewards to boost participation, I suggest 0.5mln BSN to start and optimize / iterate based on the results.
Moreover, one of our differentiating factor is the analytics area of tide where you can see in real time the ROI of your campaign (based on on-chain events).
We routinely publish research about CAC, LTV and users behaviour in web3 Tide Protocol – Medium - these are the kind of insights that we can provide during and after the campaigns
Anyways, I’ll be happy to do a live demo on a community call so to better understand your expectation and the potential for collaboration.
We increased the grant request to 1.5 mln BSN considering the additional technical design and marketing work we’ll provide around the campaign (see details in the doc). Also, we suggest to allocate 1mln BSN as rewards for users.
Obviously, we are happy to revise campaign details and iterate based on data and your feedback.
Payment terms. What about payment based on metrics achieved instead of based on the timeline of the project roll-out?
Chain for the campaign. Is it possible to run the campaign on Arbitrum or Optimism?
How does Tide’s pricing compare to RabbitHole, Layer3, or Galxe? These are the top competitors and I believe Rabbithole only takes 20% of the tokens that are given away as part of the campaign.
A 1.5m BSN request without measurable growth of new dETH holders, node operators, and Stakehouse users does not seem like a great win for the ecosystem. A test within the Polygon ecosystem makes sense with a small campaign to me to get started.
Layer3 asks for at least 10k commitment (or 1$ per campaign participant)
Galxe is free, but you have to pay for gas and additional marketing services (check out their latest stargate proposal, where they ask 45k OP of which 4.5k OP for marketing services)
Rabbithole takes 20% cut as you said. Notice it is not on performance, only on marketing budget. The cost includes only protocol usage, not design and marketing services on top.
The pricing of the former proposal includes, beyond the quests deployment and optimization:
marketing activities
access to 20k users newsletter
roi measurement
set up of referral campaign
set up of all the assets and copy (graphics) and campaign narrative
Love it! That will help to get users more familiar with the protocol. NFTs rewards were ok in the testnet/mainnet but it’s better to incentivize with the tokens and value time of the users to get familiar with all the functionalities. It’s a yes for me.
I talked with Silvio in telegram and this grant was never funded.
Once the Blockswap DAO has grown the leadership team, turned on fees for the LST Optimizer, and grown on L2s I think we should follow up with this grant to see if they are still interested.
