BSN Community Education & DAO Tooling

Executive Summary:

The Rollup is committed to helping blockchain-based organizations achieve their business goals and scale community reach.

To ensure the success of Blockswap Network, we have developed a comprehensive action plan and strategy to build the Blockswap community and support DAO intiatives. In the short term, we propose focus on BlockSwap educational content, videos explaining competitive advantages and use cases of LSNs, podcasts, and Twitter threads to spread updates and quality research for community growth. In the long term, we support interoperability of LSNs and BSN through on-chain and off-chain integrations of key DAO tools to maintain decentralization and activate community contributions.

We are committed to delivering value to Blockswap Network through a combination of expertise, experience, and active contribution. Our goal is to Blockswap DAO achieve its goals and succeed in the fast-paced and rapidly evolving world of DeFi.

DAO Tooling

On-Chain

  1. Technical integration support for automatic on-chain execution based on off-chain voting decisions. We propose and support oSnap integration into Blockswap’s governance process. oSnap is on-chain DAO tooling to automatically execute the outcomes of DAO votes in a decentralized manner without intervention from Multisig signers.
  2. Protocol Politician Program: We design delegation programs to incentivize constructive governance contributions and encourage community members to delegate to top contributors. We offer integration support for Tally’s delegation UI to boost DAO voter participation and activate community members.

Off-chain

  1. Community call for governance process discovery and fact-finding weak points
  2. Partnership exploration for Blockswap DAO strategic integration into existing communities, connections for potential B2B sales and B2C visibility
  3. Recurring consultations to audit BD and treasury functions

BD Tooling

Integrated Analytics

We support Intract’s custom BD delivery toolkit for Web3 projects. Our integrated analytics adaptors provide Google-Analytics-style insights to track and grow KPIs. We support integration into marketing channels and Ethereum smart contracts to cross-reference activity on-chain and off-chain for maximum campaign success .

Ambassador Program Set-Up

Ambassadors of Blockswap is a community initiative meant to galvanize the stakers and node operators based on contributions to Blockswap DAO. We map a hierarchy onto Discord Roles. Community members can move up the hierarchy by completing quests. We coordinate quests with core team members to ensure campaigns are meaningful and completed quests meet community goals. The purpose of the Ambassador Program is to elevate the community’s experience while completion of quests and bounties contribute to the DAO.

KPI Tokens

We use on-chain and off-chain incentives to compensate community members for contributions. Off-chain incentives help community members navigate the community hierarchy as they build reputation in the DAO. On-chain incentives include token payouts based on completion of quests or bounties. We support UMA’s KPI token integrations to provide verifiable token incentives to DAO members.

Community Education

Content Production:

  1. BlockSwap video posted on the rollup website, Youtube, and sent to the rollup newsletter explaining the advantages and use case of the product. Production includes intro session, dApp demo, explaining liquid staking, and value proposition of BlockSwap network.
  2. Twitter threads in depth updates, yield opportunities, promotions. 1 thread on overview of data/stats from BlockSwap. Thread on strategies & outlook on roadmap items and partner integrations. Intro project thread ‘alpha leak’ from KOL account.
  3. Twitter clips posted from all interviews and podcasts and retweets/engagement on any content around for further amplification.
  4. Twitter space AMA for broadening awareness, LSN incentives, and strategic industry partnerships with other notable DeFi protocols/LSD providers
  5. Podcast about LSDs, blockspace, MEV, re-staking, and Blockswaps USP

Engagement and Visibility

  • Website marketing - Banner marketing, promotions, Pop up adverts, logo, and links on therollup.co
  • Omnichannel Content Posting - Lens, Spotify, YouTube Twitter, Website, LinkedIn for all content we do together and reposting content and sharing across media partners

Great proposal overall. Looks pro.
Nevertheless if there is a lot of work put into preparing materials for the visibility, it would be cool to add a point regarding placing Blockswap solutions in ETH related journals (like.: " Rhino Review - Ethereum Staking Journal").
Also putting Blockswap LSD Nwtworks on the official Ethereum site amongother ETH pooling solutions: https://ethereum.org/en/staking/pools/

Again thanks for this contribution.

After feedback on the depth of this proposal, we separated it into a series of more detailed proposals.

In this response I will unpack the elements of the proposal and add more details to each. The meta proposal breaks down into 1) community education 2) integrations and 3) ambassador program and KPIs. So, lets dive in!

First, Community education - our bread and butter. As mentioned, we propose quite a few forms of content, such as threads, Spaces, videos, AMAs, and podcasts. We would coordinate the timeline of this content around Blockswap’s roadmap items to amplify reach and activate viewers to stake. The rollup has 25,000+ subscribers across Twitter, Youtube, Spotify, and our email newsletter. We also coordinate with power users communities like L2DAO to co-market special programs like NFTs and alpha drops. L2DAO has 10,000 Discord members and another 35,000 twitter followers in reach. Let’s just say we want to see Blockswap hit the 1000 validator mark (soon™️ ).

Second, is Integrations - There are three main tools we propose to integrate:

–i) Automatic proposal execution: oSnap DAO Governance Plug in w UMA - YouTube
I noticed on Blockswap’s Tally passed proposals trust Blockswap Labs or Blockswap Foundation to fulfill the DAO’s wishes. This presents a potential centralization risk to governance as the Lab/Foundation depends on multisig signers to properly execute proposals. We propose an oSnap integration to automatically execute transactions defined by Blockswap DAO. Trust-minimized transactions are quicker and more resilient than trust-dependent transactions. More on oSnap here: Announcing “oSnap:” Gasless Snapshot voting with on-chain execution by UMA | by Clayton Roche | UMA Project | Medium

–ii) The second tool we propose is https://www.intract.io/. We have a partnership with Intract to provide integration support for optimizing analytics and leading customer success. This demo of Intract shows how it could track participation in LSN contracts and customize specific campaigns for node operators and stakers: Intract: Web3 Growth Tool Dethrones Google Analytics - YouTube.

–iii) The third tool is to Tally’s delegation into Blockswap. This could drive greater community participation in governance and further involve BSN in the DAO. Adding native delegation could increase voter participation hence improve retention. Native delegation could also provide channels for validators to share liquidity or vote on rewards ve-style. This integration is most likely premature but I do suggest keeping it mind as the validator set on LSNs grows.

The last piece of the proposal is the Ambassador Program and KPI tokens. Usually, we build incentive programs from scratch by creating a hierarchy of Discord roles, mapping user journeys through quests and bounties, and designing incentives to help users flow through the program. To properly design meaningful contributions, more time to understand the current journey of an ambassador would give us a better feeling on incentive structures for ambassadors.

Track Part 1 of the rollup DAO success program here:

The Grant Council has discussed your proposal and believe the requested compensation is not worth it to the Network at this time. Blockswap Labs already has a wide variety of content available to the public. Furthermore we think an upfront payment for required ongoing work is a flawed system. We would love to have you on board with us and would like to work with you to figure out the best way for both Blockswap Network and the rollup to be rewarded. Let’s setup a meeting in the near future to discuss this partnership!

Thanks for the consideration! I’ll message @GrantCouncil on Discord to set up a meeting. On this meeting, let’s make sure to refine the proposal to community education. We already received feedback that Part 2 (Integrations) and Part 3 (Ambassador Program) are out of scope for this initial phase.
